Shape Attitude Ghana Promotes Sanitation at Independence Day Inter-Schools Quiz

Shape Attitude Ghana partnered with the RC Ekem Library and the Tourism Society of Ghana, Effutu Chapter, to commemorate Ghana’s 2026 Independence Day through an engaging inter-schools competition aimed at promoting education, patriotism and environmental responsibility.

The event, held on Monday, 2nd March 2026, brought together six basic schools from the Effutu Municipality in a spirited contest under the theme “Advancing Our Cultural Heritage for Development.” The competition created a vibrant platform for pupils to demonstrate their knowledge of Ghana’s history, culture and civic values while celebrating the country’s independence.

Participating schools included A.M.E. Zion Basic School, Ansaful Basic School, Atekyedo Basic School, Unipra South A/B Basic School, Ateitu–Osubonpanyin Basic School, and Ayirebi Yankson Basic School. The atmosphere throughout the contest was filled with excitement and anticipation as pupils confidently answered questions and showcased their academic abilities.

After an intense and closely contested competition, Unipra South A/B Basic School emerged as champions with 43 points, narrowly edging Ansaful Basic School, which secured 42 points to place second. Ayirebi Yankson Basic School finished third with 41 points, reflecting the high level of competitiveness among the participating schools.

While one school lifted the trophy, the event celebrated the brilliance, confidence and promise of all participating pupils, reinforcing the importance of education in nurturing responsible and informed future leaders.

In line with its mission of promoting positive behavioural change and environmental responsibility, Shape Attitude Ghana also donated five dustbins to support sanitation efforts within the school community. The donation served as a reminder that true independence goes beyond political freedom to include collective responsibility for maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
